If You Go Away
Elizabeth Paige Smith Art If you go away: Acrylic Photo Sculpture, featuring sunsets shot by Smith while traveling over the globe
IF YOU GO AWAY
A series of sunsets captured by Smith while traveling around the globe, she presents each image laminated within a deep acrylic sculpture serving to lift and refract ambient light driving the gaze deeper into it’s vortex.
As a mode for meditation and contemplation, inevitably the sun goes away, but in this work Smith strives to linger, hold on to, and celebrate the waning sunlight countering end of day sadness by generating light refractions in essence as a way to delay and elongate time past and time beginning.
